Orlando substitute teacher to compete on ‘Big Brother’

An Orlando substitute teacher is among the 16 houseguest­s announced for the 20th season of “Big Brother.”

Faysal Shafaat is 26, and CBS said his name is pronounced Fey-sull Sha-fat. Orlando is his hometown as well as where he currently lives.

The reality series returns over two nights: 8-10 p.m. June 27, and 9-10 p.m. June 28.

The 16 will compete for $500,000.

The show’s regular schedule will be 8 p.m. Sundays, starting July 1; 9 p.m. Wednesdays, starting July 4; and 9 p.m. Thursdays, starting July 5. The Thursday show will be the live eviction episode, and Julie Chen will debrief the players as they leave.

The contestant­s’ moves will be recorded by 94 HD cameras and 113 microphone­s.

The field this year includes a flight attendant, a former undercover cop, a cyber security engineer and a Las Vegas entertaine­r.

40, whose hometown is Parsippany, N.J., and who lives in Wanaque, N.J. He is a former undercover cop.

27, a welder from Stuarts Draft, Va.

21, a college student from Village Mills, Texas, who lives in College Station, Texas.

30, a pro football player from San Diego who lives in Tempe, Ariz.

23, a lifeguard from Rossford, Ohio, who lives in Hilton Head, S.C.

25, a flight attendant who lives in Atlanta. 24, a life coach from Plainview, N.Y., who lives in Encino, Calif.

28, a medical sales rep from Somerset, Ky., who lives in Bowling Green, Ky.

34, a stay-at-home mom from Columbia, Md.

28, a profession­al dancer from Miami who lives in West Hollywood, Calif.

25, a cyber security engineer from Oakdale, Conn., who lives in Charlestow­n, Mass.

26, a fitness model from Hilton Head, S.C., who lives in Playa Vista, Calif.

26, a shipping manager from Shorewood, Ill., who lives in Chicago.

29, the Las Vegas entertaine­r originally from Myrtle Beach, S.C.

23, a day trader from Bridgeport, Conn. CBS announced that some twists this season would soon be announced.
