Winston, fiancee welcome baby boy
TAMPA — Bucs quarterback Jameis Winston and his fiancee Breion Allen named their first child in recognition of Jameis’ father, Antonor.
“The Prince is here!!” Winston wrote to caption a video posted to his Instagram story, showing the baby wearing a onesie that said “best day ever.”
Winston and Allen announced they were expecting in February and got engaged in May.
She posted the first photo of their son, writing “my biggest blessing arrived” with his full name, Antonor Malachi Winston, who was born on June 29.
Winston, 24 and entering his fourth NFL season, spoke in April about his excitement at becoming a parent and the responsibility that will bring in his life.
“The main thing is just the respect and the growth that I see in my girlfriend,” he said.
“Just seeing what she’s going through on a day-today basis, and hearing from different fathers and mothers on what it means to be a parent has really changed my perspective on life.
“It’s just getting me anxious and excited for that moment, because I know I am going to be a father to a beautiful son, and it is going to be my job to teach him how to do everything.”
The first practice of Bucs training camp is now just two weeks away, with rookies reporting July 23 and veterans July 25.
Winston will miss the first three games of the upcoming season — his fourth in the NFL — due to his suspension for violating the NFL’s personal conduct policy.
He was accused in November of groping a female Uber driver in Arizona in 2016, and a sevenmonth NFL investigation determined that her account was “consistent and credible,” finding that he violated the policy by “touching the driver in an inappropriate and sexual manner without her consent.”
Winston issued a written apology and pledged to avoid off the field issues in the future.
