- By Jordan Culver

Orlando City midfielder Yoshimar Yotún, who was already set to miss Sunday's match against D.C. United with a red card suspension, will miss an additional game, the MLS Disciplinary Committee ruled on Friday.

He's also been fined an undisclosed amount.

The suspension and the fine are for violent conduct during an incident in Orlando City's 3-3 draw with the New England Revolution. Video from the incident shows Yotún putting his hand on the throat of Revs' defender Jalil Anibaba.

The additional onegame suspension means he'll miss Orlando City's home match against Atlanta United on Aug. 24.

Yotún was sent off in the eighth minute of second-half stoppage time. He also suffered a foot injury during the match and is day-to-day.

In addition, both the Revolution and Orlando City have were found in violation of the league's Mass Confrontation Policy. Orlando City SC and coach James O’Connor were fined for the Lions' third violation of the policy — the second under O'Connor — and New England was issued a warning for the club's first violation. and the two sides have agreed to terms, pending approval.

Ascues last played for Peruvian First Division side Alianza Lima and was part of Aliana Lima’s 2017 championship campaign. The 6-foot-2 defender can also be deployed as a defensive midfielder.

Alianza Lima posted on Instagram, and wished Ascues well while with Orlando City.

Multiple Peruvian outlets first reported Ascues was headed to Orlando City. It was first confirmed in the U.S. by reporter Franco Panizo.

Ascues on Friday posted a message to farewell message to Alianza Lima and the club's fans on Twitter.

Ascues, 26, is another addition to a back line that has suffered frequent injuries this season. Captain and centerback Jonathan Spector dealt with concussions earlier this season and is trying to recover from a hamstring injury, while centerback Lamine Sané has missed weeks due to a quad injury.

Orlando City brought in centerback Shane O’Neill before the secondary transfer window opened. He’s started in two matches since getting cleared to play in midJuly.

Ascues is the second Peruvian player to join Orlando City, following in the footsteps of Peruvian national team member Yoshi Yotún.
