AROUND THE HORN

Dodgers: Closer Kenley Jansen will miss about a month after going on the DL with an irregular heartbeat. The 30-year-old RHP dealt with the condition in 2011 and underwent a procedure in October 2012 to return it to normal rhythm. Jansen is tied for the NL lead with 32 saves. “Anytime you’re talking about the heart, we obviously have to be very careful with it,” manager Dave Roberts said. Switch pitcher Pat Venditte was recalled.

Phillies: The Phillies acquired 1B Justin Bour from the Marlins for a minor-league pitcher. Bour, batting .227 with 19 home runs and 54 RBIs, is expected to be a pinch hitter since the Phils have Carlos Santana at first.

Angels: An inflamed right wrist pushed OF Mike Trout to the DL. The two-time MVP has missed seven games, his secondlongest injury absence.

Orioles: CF Adam Jones moved to right to make room for the MLB debut of Cedric Mullins. Jones, 33, has started in center since arriving in 2008. Manager Buck Showalter said Jones, whose contract expires after the season, was OK with the move . ... INF-OF Danny Valencia was designated for assignment.

Brewers: RHP Joakim Soria went on the DL with a strained right groin. Soria has a 1.59 ERA in seven games since being acquired from the White Sox. RHP Adrian Houser was recalled.

Mariners: RHP Felix Hernandez, who threw a perfect game in 2012, is out of the rotation. The 14-year veteran has a career-high 5.73 ERA and is 0-4 in his last five starts. “He’s done an unbelievable job as a Mariner,” manager Scott Servais said. “Certainly, respect him and everything he’s done here throughout his career, but these things happen and ultimately it’s about the team.”

Cubs: Jason Heyward broke up a no-hitter with a two-run single in the sixth before Anthony Rizzo’s bases-loaded walk in the seventh provided a 3-2 win over the Nationals. Jeremy Hellickson retired the first 17 batters but then walked the bases loaded and left without allowing a hit.
