Edgewater topples Bishop Moore

D.J. Hampton blocked a punt and recovered it in the end zone to put Edgewater ahead for good, and the Eagles ended a 27-year drought against Bishop Moore with a 24-20 victory in the Battle of College Park.

Edgewater quarterbac­k R.J. Harvey threw for one touchdown and ran for 162 yards and another score in the victory. The Eagles last beat Bishop Moore in 1991, a game called due to inclement weather with the Eagles leading 31-0 with six minutes remaining.

Sophomore Anthony Williams ran for 153 yards on 15 carries and Lake Brantley beat Hagerty 35-17.

Trinity Prep’s Spencer Fetter completed 12 of his 13 pass attempts for 248 yards and five TDs in a 42-0 win over Four Corners Charter.

Master’s Academy quarterbac­k Matt Gillis was 16-for-20 passing for 312 yards and six touchdowns in a 49-0 victory over Lake Mary Prep.

No. 13 DeLand made a big statement against Mainland, winning 30-20 to beat the Buccaneers for the first time since 2011. DeLand’s big three showed why they are so heavily recruited. UF commit Dionte Marks scored on two long touchdown passes, USF commit Demaurez Bellamy ran for 157 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries, and junior Avantae Williams had a 50-yard TD run. Mainland’s De’andre McMillian ran for 140 yards and three TDs on 27 carries.
