Police: Man tried to shoot former boss
A Florida man was arrested for shooting at his boss two hours after he was fired — and just three days after he was hired, according to Sanford police. The employer, Sean Jackson, was unharmed.
Djuan Lewis, 22 of Altamonte Springs, faces charges of attempted felony murder and shooting from and into a moving motor vehicle, an arrest report showed. His bond was set at $46,000, according to Seminole County Sheriff ’s Office.
Lewis began workling at Benada Aluminum Products on Jewett Lane on Thursday, according to a report by Channel 9-WFTV.
Jackson told authorities he fired Lewis 5 a.m. Sunday. Jackson began driving home with his girlfriend, La Kiesha Klugh, at 7 a.m. when they noticed a vehicle following them on 16th Street while approaching Peach Avenue, the reported stated. The driver of the vehicle fired five shots from a black, unidentified handgun, damaging the rear bumper, trunk and rear right tire, police said.
Jackson and Klugh returned to the parking lot of Aluminum Products, where they called the police. Another witness and employee of Aluminum Products told authorities that he saw Lewis lingering outside after his termination in a car with a handgun.
Seminole County Sheriff’s Deputy Erik Aragon-Vela arrived at an Orange Grove Drive site where he was told Lewis was parked in a driveway, the report showed. He found Lewis in the vehicle. Lewis told the deputy about his gun and a knife in his possession. He then admitted to the shooting and was transported to John E. Polk Correctional Facility, Sanford police stated in the report.
