will gather with Gov. Rick Scott and U.S. Rep. Ron DeSantis today in Orlando for a Republican unity rally.

Florida Republicans are kicking off the general election campaign in Orlando today with a unity rally of all statewide candidates and a visit from Vice President Mike Pence.

First, the Republicans will gather with Gov. Rick Scott, the party’s candidate for U.S. Senate, and U.S. Rep. Ron DeSantis, the GOP candidate for governor. They will be joined by Republican Cabinet candidates state Rep. Matt Caldwell, Judge Ashley Moody and state CFO Jimmy Patronis for the Orlando rally.

Defeated gubernatorial candidate Adam Putnam, Florida’s agriculture commissioner, also will be on hand, the Scott campaign said, as well as former Putnam supporter Attorney General Pam Bondi.

The event is scheduled to start at 10 a.m. at Ace Cafe in downtown Orlando.

The event comes on the heels of the Democrats’ similar rally in Orlando on Aug. 31, which featured the first joint appearance by gubernatorial candidate Andrew Gillum and U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson as well as the Democratic Cabinet candidates and three of four defeated candidates for governor.

After the rally, Pence will go to Orlando International Airport for a reception and lunch for Scott, according to the White House.

DeSantis also will attend that event, the state GOP said.

Pence then will appear at a dinner reception for Scott in The Villages, the White House said. That event will be private and closed to the media.

The general election will take place Nov. 6.
