2 Lake County students made threats, arrested
A South Lake High School student was arrested after ammunition was found in his backpack on Monday, hours after a Eustis Middle School student was arrested for threatening to bring a gun to school to shoot students, according to Lake County sheriff ’s reports.
In the Groveland school incident, a student told a deputy that about 12:30 p.m. he bumped into the shoulder of the 17-year-old suspect who responded, “yo, I got a toolie,” an arrest report said.
The 17-year-old was charged with aggravated assault, making a false report concerning the use of firearms and purchase of a handgun by fraud for not purchasing it through a certified retailer.
In the earlier incident, a Eustis Middle student told authorities a fellow student, “I’m going to bring my gun to school and you won’t be messing with me after I come over and shoot ya’ll,” a report said.
