Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights: A 10-house lineup

- By Dewayne Bevil

Universal Orlando spilled its guts about houses, one by one, for this year’s Halloween Horror Nights. It’s smart — if maddening — to keep anticipation building.

But it would be easy to lose track this year because HHN is featuring 10 haunted houses, a recordhigh number for the event. We’ve compiled these offerings alphabetically, and tossed in the five scare zones, with a little bit of info provided by Universal for your handy reference.

Trespassers to this thought-to-be-abandoned amusement park must be punished by revenge-seeking carnies. Where is the Scooby gang when you need it?

A dark, dark comeback for flesh-eating undead types.

As in the 1988 film, Myers is out of prison and searching for his young niece in Haddonfield.

A hybrid house featuring scenes from both “Happy Death Day” (Babyface Killer alert) and “The First Purge.”

A dream come true: Moments from the nightmarish 1982 film

“A demented twist on your most beloved fairytales,” Universal says, featuring an appearance by the original Wicked Witch of the West.

Meteorite hits Earth, and as if that’s not bad enough, plant life grows crazy.

Drive-in theme with werewolf bikers and deadly barbers (and the scent of popcorn).

Scenes from the first season of the Netflix drama “Stranger Things,” including a look at the dreaded Upside Down, the Hawkins National Laboratory, the Byers family living room and what Universal calls “most loved characters.” Fingers crossed, as always, for Barb.

Cult film, was featured as a scare zone at Halloween Horror Nights last year, gets the full-blown house treatment this year.

A barn setting near park entrance that features “foul creatures and elements from the 10 haunted houses.

Cottoncandy ray guns from the 1988 “Outer Space” flick.

He’s a living doll, but not in the good way. Chucky encourages his toylike minions to terrorize.

Tour of Central Park with “rotting pumpkins fused with decaying human flesh.”

It’s New York street, it’s New Year’s Eve, it’s bighair vampires.
