Disney resort details expansion
The planned third tower at Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort will include 14 stories, with 349 guest rooms and more than 21,000 square feet of meeting space, and is scheduled for completion in 2020, according to resort owners Tishman and MetLife Investment Management.
Set on the current site of tennis courts next to the Swan, work is expected to begin early this fall on the tower, with new renderings showing an angular exterior distinct from the Swan and Dolphin towers – with mainly glass facades and a visible, covered rooftop terrace.
The current property offers 2,270 guest rooms and 331,000 square feet of meeting space with numerous restaurants and bars as well as a spa.
Other amenities at the new tower are set to include 151 guest suites with private executive meeting spaces among its 300-plus rooms, top-floor meeting space, a fitness center, 90-foot pool, 75-seat restaurant and 50-seat lounge and bar. Michigan Street. A public hearing is scheduled for Oct. 16.
CivilCorp Engineering filed a Master Plan in August calling for 17 3-story townhomes, each with a rear-entry 2-car garage. Architect Jeff Gaither from Studio 407 would incorporate a mix of materials to distinguish the units. by $560,344 and close the case against the long-vacant hotel.
The move clears the way for the owner to proceed with a rezoning and reposition it for sale.
Owned by Fortuna Realty in New York, the onetime Hyatt resort includes 77 acres at the northeast quadrant of I-4 and W192 right across from Celebration and minutes from Disney.
Fortuna has engaged Avison Young as the exclusive advisor for the public offering, which was published last week. The owner will consider joint venture opportunities, according to the property flyer.
Chief Code Enforcement Officer Tom Wilkenson told GrowthSpotter the property had been accumulating fines since 2011; the reduced amount of $141,656 must be paid within 30 days.
M/I Homes of Orlando plans to build 136 homes ranging from 1,750 to 3,600 square feet just east of Clermont in Johns Lake Landing, having closed on 54 finished sites so far.
Buying 50-, 75- and 85-foot sites in phases 4 and 5 for the community that fronts the northwestern reaches of Johns Lake, M/I intends to open a model home for sales next month. John’s Lake LLC is selling the land.
M/I’s lot purchases are expected to take several years to finalize, depending on market conditions, with David Weekley Homes also purchasing lots in the subdivision on a takedown basis.
Homes will be comparable to Narcoosee Del Sol in St. Cloud, with prices expected to start in the high $200,000s and some homes starting in the low $400,000s.
