Holliday, Vittar to headline Come Out With Pride event
Broadway star Jennifer Holliday and Brazilian pop star Pabllo Vittar will headline Come Out With Pride Orlando when the event celebrates its 15th anniversary in October.
The Most Colorful Parade and Festival will be Oct. 12 in Lake Eola Park. The day will feature two entertainment stages, a community rally and a fireworks finale.
Vittar, one of the world’s most popular drag queens, will perform on the Pride Stage. In June, she sang at WorldPride in New York, which marked the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall riots. She has scored hits with Charli XCX, Diplo and Major Lazer. Vittar just released “Flash Pose,” her first single in English.
Holliday, who won the Tony for playing Effie in the original “Dreamgirls,” will headline the Amphitheater Stage. She won a Grammy for her signature song, “And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going,” which comes from the 1981 musical.
Come Out With Pride, which unites the LGBTQ+ community and its allies, will run Oct. 6-13. The 2019 theme will be “Heroes,” and parade marshals will be announced later.
