Help Dory find her friends in new-ish Epcot scavenger hunt

- By Kathleen Christiansen

If you’ve ever exited The Seas with Nemo & Friends and wished the underwater fun didn’t have to end, there’s a new-ish scavenger hunt — it was launched March 1, but many didn’t get to experience it since the parks closed March 15 over coronavirus concerns — that guides guests on an interactive, educational adventure through Epcot’s SeaBase.

Finding Dory’s Friends: A Fin-Tastic Scavenger Hunt tasks participants with traveling throughout SeaBase to locate Dory’s eight friends based on riddles. A handy booklet tells you exactly which part of the building to visit (Bruce’s Shark World, Marine Mammal Area, The Nursery, etc.) and even gives hints for those who are struggling.

Once you’ve located the friend, you find the corresponding sticker and place it on the page.

It’s fairly easy to figure out which sticker goes where based on the empty shape(s) on the pages, but it’s more fun if you play along and follow the clues to find each of Dory’s friends.

Besides locating Dory’s friends,

the booklet also contains trivia and “while you’re here” sections for each area that ask additional questions and prompt visitors to do things like take a photo with Bruce.

After locating all of the friends, there’s one sticker left, and that’s for you to proudly display on your chest to let all of Walt Disney World know that you embarked on this journey and found Dory’s friends.

For those wondering how large a time commitment they’ll have to make, I was able to finish the entire booklet in about 30 minutes, but it could take longer for those with kids — which you might not mind on a hot day, as the entire building is air-conditioned.

Scavenger hunt booklets can be found near the exit of The Seas with Nemo & Friends inside SeaBase.

The activity is free with Epcot admission, which varies. Also, with the current limited park capacity amid the coronavirus pandemic, guests will not only need a valid ticket or pass but also a park reservation to enter the park.
