’Noles picked No. 7 in ACC media poll
Florida State senior defensive tackle Marvin Wilson and redshirt junior receiver Tamorrion Terry were among four Seminoles named to the 2020 AllACC preseason football team voted on by the media Friday.
Cornerback Asante Samuel Jr. and safety Hamsah Nasirildeen were also among the players to make the list, which was voted on by a panel of 134 media members who cover the league and its teams.
FSU was picked to finish seventh among the 15 teams, with the Seminoles earning 1,177 points. Wilson, who was named to the Outland and Nagurski Trophy watch lists, received the most votes among the defensive players with 108. Samuel earned the most points among defensive backs (90), including teammate Nasirildeen (56).
Terry, who led the team in receptions (60) and receiving yards (1,188) last season, received 100 votes. He finished third behind Clemson running back Travis Etienne (133) and quarterback Trevor Lawrence (131).
But in the ACC Player of the Year voting, Lawrence took the top spot with 100 votes ahead of Etienne (30), North Carolina quarterback Sam Howell (1),
UNC linebacker Chazz Surratt (1), Notre Dame quarterback Ian Book (1) and Wake Forest defensive end Carlos Basham Jr. (1).
Clemson was the runaway favorite for the top spot in the conference, earning 132 of the 134 possible first-place votes for 2008. The Tigers were also picked to win the conference outright.
Miami was picked to finish sixth and placed one player on the All-ACC team — tight end Brevin Jordan.
