Private schools take center stage once again in Week 2 of the high school football regular season.

Mount Dora Christian Academy hosts Foundation Academy in a marquee matchup of teams that won big a week ago. Each program features standout players poised to have exceptional seasons.

Foundation senior Danny Stutsman, an Oklahoma commit, is slotted at No. 11 in the area’s Class of 2021 recruiting rankings. MDCA safety Kevon “KJ” Ellis entered the season at No. 24 and quarterback Ty’Quan Wiggins ranks No. 53.

The Master ’s Academy, Orangewood Christian, and Deltona Trinity Christian host games against Orlando area opponents on Friday.

Central Florida Christian Academy (0-1) was informed that its home game against Lecanto Seven Rivers Christian (0-1) had been canceled due to COVID-related concerns. The Citrus County Chronicle reported Monday that all sports activities at Seven Rivers are “on hold until Sept. 21” due to faculty members testing positive for the virus.

Seven Rivers lost 14-2 at Deltona Trinity last week. Trinity coach Troy Rayburn confirmed to the Orlando Sentinel on Thursday that the Eagles are still scheduled to host First Academy-Leesburg on Friday.

Below is a glimpse of what to watch for and the predicted winners for each of the five local games on schedule in Week 2. Games kick off at 7 p.m. unless otherwise noted.
