Orange County woman accused of killing son, 6
An Orlando woman suspected of killing her 6-year-old son was arrested Wednesday afternoon after witnesses and authorities said they found her swimming nude in a lake repeatedly saying, “God forgive me.”
The victim, Avion Borner, was later found unresponsive in a bathtub, authorities said.
Labreaunne Wilson, 26, faces a felony charge of first-degree murder, according to an OCSO arrest affidavit.
She was seen on video and by witnesses at about 2:25 p.m. leaving an apartment complex on the 4800 block of South Orange Blossom Trail with Avion and crossing the street. Witnesses say she was dragging Avion toward Lake Tyler.
At 2:30 p.m., Wilson returned to the apartment complex without her son, the affidavit shows.
At 2:58 p.m., she exited the building once again, crossing OBT to Lake Tyler. Upon returning, she was carrying Avion’s limp body over her left shoulder back to her room, the affidavit said.
At about 4:30 p.m. she was seen leaving the apartment complex alone and heading toward Lake Tyler. Witnesses say she removed her clothing and entered the lake nude. Witnesses tried to get Wilson to exit the lake, but she refused and said, “God forgive me,” the affidavit shows.
Witnesses and Orange County Fire Rescue members removed Wilson from the lake. While exiting the water deputies heard Wilson say, “I think I killed my child,” the affidavit said OCFR paramedics also said they heard this while transporting Wilson to Orlando Regional Medical Center.
She was cleared from the hospital and found to have no injuries.
Witnesses began a search around Lake Tyler for Wilson’s son.
One witness suggested that the apartment complex manager check Wilson’s apartment, where they found Avion, the affidavit shows.
Avion’s grandmother, who lives in a nearby apartment, entered the room with the manager and told authorities she saw foam around her grandson’s mouth. She performed CPR on Avion before deputies took over until paramedics arrived and took him to Arnold
Palmer Children’s Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 4:42 p.m.
An investigation found one witness and her daughter were spending time with Wilson and Avion in the hours before his death.
The witness’ daughter and Avion were playing in the courtyard area of the apartment complex while the witness and Wilson spoke.
The witness told authorities everything seemed fine until about 2:30 p.m. when Wilson grabbed Avion by the arm and said they had to leave.
After Wilson was cleared from the hospital, deputies transported her to OCSO where authorities questioned and then placed her under arrest.
