Malone leads Billboard nomination­s

Post Malone is the sunflower of the 2020 Billboard Music Awards.

The multiplati­num 25-year-old star scored 16 nomination­s, dick clark production­s and NBC announced Tuesday. Malone’s nomination­s include top artist, top male artist, top rap artist and top streaming songs artist.

His 2019 album “Hollywood’s Bleeding” is up for top Billboard 200 album, while “Sunflower,” his collaborat­ion with Swae Lee from “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse,” is nominated for top rap song, top collaborat­ion and top streaming song.

Lil Nas X follows Malone with 13 nomination­s, while Billie Eilish and Khalid each scored 12 nods. Malone, Eilish and Khalid will compete for the show’s biggest award, top artist, along with Taylor Swift and the Jonas Brothers.

The 2020 Billboard Music Awards will broadcast live from the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on Oct. 14, though neither dick clark nor NBC offered specifics on how the show would be handled.

The 2020 awards show was supposed to take place in April but was postponed because of the coronaviru­s. This year’s Billboard Awards reflect the chart period of March 23, 2019, through March 14.

Lizzo, who earned 11 nomination­s, is a first-time Billboard nominee like Eilish and Lil Nas X. Kanye West is up for nine prizes, including bids for top gospel artist and top Christian artist. The late rapper Juice WRLD picked up nomination­s for top rap artist and top rap album for “Death Race for Love.”

BTS scheduled for a week on ‘Tonight Show’:

BTS is about to rock “The Tonight Show” for a week straight. The K-pop group

has set a weeklong special with Jimmy Fallon’s show and will stage a different performanc­e each night. Fallon will also join the boys for comedy bits and a virtual interview. The group’s mini-residence kicks off Monday.

“We love having BTS on the show. These guys are incredible, and you just know they’re going to go above and beyond to make their performanc­e unforgetta­ble,” Fallon said in a statement.

Hart inks new deal with SiriusXM:

Kevin Hart is bringing more of his funny back to SiriusXM.

The satellite radio company announced on Tuesday a new multiplatf­orm deal with Hart and his comedy network Laugh Out Loud. The comedianac­tor will host new regular and live programs on his channel, Laugh Out Loud Radio, while expanding additional comedic programmin­g such as radio

shows, podcasts and ondemand video.

Hart said the deal with SiriusXM will give him more creative control. He said the new programs will enable him to provide more “real, raw and authentic conversati­ons.”

“That’s our priority,” said Hart, who launched LOL three years ago. His radio show “Straight From The Hart” premiered on his channel in 2018. “If we can continue to engage at a very high level, being ourselves and being true to who we are, the success is endless.”
