‘The Rock’ endorses Biden, Harris
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has officially endorsed former Vice President Joe Biden and Sen. Kamala Harris ahead of this year’s presidential election.
In a seven-minute video posted to his Instagram, Johnson publicly endorses the candidates and shares a clip of himself having a conversation with Biden and Harris about how they will earn the respect of the American people.
“I thought it was a great and extremely productive conversation that we had,” Johnson said. “As a registered Independent for years now with centrist ideologies, I do feel that Vice President Biden and Sen. Harris are the best choice to lead our country, and I am endorsing them to become president and vice president of our United States.”
This is the first time Johnson has ever publicly endorsed a presidential ticket, though he says he has voted for both Democratic and Republican candidates in the past. To start off his conversation with Biden and Harris, Johnson explained how he admires Biden’s soul and called Harris a “certified badass.”
Johnson then asked both Biden and Harris what they will do to earn the respect of the American people once in the White House.
“By doing what we say we’re going to do. By keeping our word. By leveling with the American people. By taking responsibility,” Biden said. “When we fail, acknowledge it. We’re not going to be perfect, but take responsibility. Say this is what I’m going to do, this is what I believe and tell the truth.”
Baby surprise: Actress Billie Lourd announced on social media Friday that she and her fiance, Austen Rydell, welcomed their newborn son into the world. She is the daughter of the late Carrie Fisher, who died in 2016 at the age of 60 following a heart attack.
The announcement came as a surprise, since Lourd’s pregnancy was not made public. The “American Horror Story” star shared a photo of their son’s feet. The caption read, “Introducing Kingston Fisher Lourd Rydell,” with a blue heart and crown emojis.
A gift for Prince George:
Veteran broadcaster and naturalist David Attenborough has given Britain’s Prince George a giant shark tooth fossil after a private viewing of his new documentary at Kensington Palace.
Photos released by the palace showed the 7-yearold prince looking at the tooth from a carcharocles megalodon, a species that lived more than 3 million years ago and was three times the size of modern great white sharks.
Attenborough, 94, found the tooth during a family holiday to Malta in the late 1960s.
Attenborough, who spent his childhood collecting fossils and other natural specimens, visited the palace for a private viewing of his new environmental documentary with George’s father, Prince William. The film, “David Attenborough: A Life on Our Planet,” is a personal reflection on his career as a naturalist and the changes he has seen in the natural world during his lifetime.
