Take time to reflect on year of COVID-19

So many in our community are hurting from the change and loss we’ve experienced as a result of COVID-19. As an act of respect and empathy, let’s take a moment this week to pause in front of the blue lights radiating from AdventHealth’s campuses as well as community landmarks like the Lake Eola Fountain, the Amway Center and the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts. The lights symbolize hope and unity as we mark one year since the start of the pandemic.

Thank you to AdventHealth for leading in this time of reflection. And thank you to the Orlando Sentinel for naming frontline health workers at AdventHealth and other hospital systems as 2020’s Central Floridians of the Year — a fitting tribute for those who are playing such a vital role in helping people heal from the virus every day. The blue lights also represent that healing with a message that hope shines on and better days are ahead.
