Ticked off! @lack of spam

-

I’m ticked off that home improvement stores and drug stores no longer provide printed ads. Not everyone wants to scroll through pages of ads on the computer. Don’t they realize people, at least myself, rely on the printed ads to determine where to go to shop? No ads, less business for the merchants!

I’m healthy, active and grateful at 78. I also shave three or four times a week, see a barber and even get pedicures. Yet, I wonder who these guys are who want to look like Santa Claus all year long. Have they lost all self respect ... have no sense of dignity ... do they need a few bucks for razor blades ... to see a barber? The fact is, they’ve given up on life. They are just waiting around for the final chapter. And we are sadly watching them.

I’m ticked off at spam. I feel neglected. I haven’t gotten one piece of spam in almost two weeks.

In regard to the person who doesn’t pick up masks as litter. You’re right, it is disgusting; what is wrong with litterers?! But I walk with a pick-up tool, found at your local hardware store or online. My friend holds the trash bag, and we keep our neighborhood picked up without touching anything.

The flip side

My 84-year-old husband was at Wawa and was given a free coffee. He asked why and the server said, “Because I can.” The kind gesture made his day much brighter. There are some great people who pay it forward daily. Thank you!

Brian and his team at Crosby Wellness Center have done an amazing job making the fitness center a safe and motivating place to be during the pandemic. Brian is visible and available to members and he has reinforced safety measures, all while encouraging motivating activities.
