Following a 2020 hiatus, the Orlando Boat Show returns this weekend to Orange County Convention Center, dropping its anchor and displaying new vessels for potential buyers March 5-7.

Now in its 11th year, the show will bring 500 boats to the convention center floor from 21 Central Florida boat dealers representing more than 70 manufacturers.

According to the National Marine Manufacturers Association, boat sales reached a 13-year high in 2020 amid the need for social distancing outdoors. The NMMA expects this boom to continue through 2021.

Visitors can find a wide variety of boats to browse including bowriders, center consoles, deck boats, flats boats, freshwater fishing boats, jet boats, pontoon boats and surf boats. The show will also represent the first time many are able to get a firsthand look at 2021 models due to postponed shows

last year.

Some special events and entertainment are geared toward younger visitors including a trout pond, a show from Twiggy the Waterskiing Squirrel and a virtual saltwater fishing simulator.

Amid the continuing pandemic, masks are mandatory for visitors, who will be asked to follow social distancing guidelines at the limited-capacity show. Boats will be sanitized and disinfected throughout the event.
