Lawn care company MyTruGreenLawn is offering one lucky winner the rare chance to get paid to play cornhole. $1,000 is up for grabs for the chosen applicant, who must document their experience.

According to the company’s website, cornhole supposedly got its origins when a 14th-century carpenter saw children throwing rocks into a groundhog’s hole. After that, he crafted a wooden cornhole board and replaced rocks with corn-filled canvas sacks.

Modern-day players still enjoy a game that is largely unchanged from its inception centuries ago. MyTruGreenLawn is incentivizing cornhole enthusiasts to spend time in their yard while participating in friendly competition.

The ideal candidate for this offer is “anyone with cornhole equipment and a willingness to play.” Applicants, who must be 18 years or older, should also have an enthusiasm for cornhole, a “strong sense of play,” enjoyment of the outdoors and the ability to socially distance while playing.

Candidates must respond about their cornhole skill level and answer the question: “Why should we choose you to get paid to play cornhole?” Applications must be received by 5 p.m. EST April 2. The selected winner will be notified by April 7.

One selected winner will need to play cornhole on at least five separate days and complete a worksheet for each round played. These must be completed by April 30.
