VACCINE SITES AROUND STATE

- By Kate Santich and John Cutter Orlando Sentinel

All Floridians 40 and older will be able to get the COVID-19 vaccine starting today, and anyone older than 18 will be eligible starting April 5. The state also announced Friday that 16- and 17-year-olds can be inoculated with the Pfizer shot — the only COVID-19 vaccine currently approved for teenagers — starting April 5, if they have a form signed by a parent or a parent accompanies them to the site.

Overall, the number of COVID-19 vaccination sites in Central Florida is also growing rapidly as federal, state and county governments, retail pharmacies, employers and houses of worship join the effort. Who’s eligible for the vaccine can vary widely from site to site, and the rules change regularly.

We have compiled a list of vaccination sites across Central Florida that will be updated frequently. (Latest update: March 28.)

There’s also a statewide email address for home-bound seniors to register to have the COVID-19 vaccine brought directly to them. To request vaccination, email HomeboundVaccine@em.myflorida. com or call 1-866-779-6121.

Anyone seeking a vaccination will need proof of being a full- or parttime Florida resident. Examples of accepted documentation include a valid Florida driver’s license or Florida identification card or any two of the following:

A deed, mortgage, monthly mortgage statement, mortgage payment booklet or residential rental or lease agreement.

A utility hookup or work order that is not more than 2 months old or a utility bill that is not more than 2 months old.

Mail from a bank or other financial institution — including checking, savings, or investment account statements — that is not more than 2 months old.

Mail from a government agency, such as a tax bill showing a Florida address, that is not more than 2 months old.

Caution: Beware of scams. Do not fill out Eventbrite vaccine registration forms unless they are provided through a county’s website or the links in this list, and do not register for a vaccination appointment that requires payment. However, many providers ask for insurance information if you have coverage.
