Number to know

0: Since its advent in the 2014 season, the College Football Playoff committee hasn’t selected a two-loss team to participate. But this year’s Alabama squad may be able to shake those odds, according to ESPN’s Football Power Index. A close loss to No. 1 Georgia in the SEC title game would give them a 58.7 percent chance of making the semifinals.
