Ticked off! @phone scammers

-

I am greatly disheartened at the audacity of phone scammers and crooks. Today I got one supposedly from Spectrum, my internet provider, saying that my modem was not accepting the update. She wanted me to get on the computer and start clicking things. I could barely understand her so I told her I would call Spectrum’s main number and request a tech come out to my home. She even called back before I could reach the main number. Once I reached that number, I was told the number that called me is not with Spectrum but is a crook trying to crash my system and then sell me theirs. Can you believe it? Shame on them!

So when are the police going to start enforcing the no talking or texting while driving law? I’m so exhausted saving myself from three or four accidents every day on the Central Florida roads. It’s getting ridiculous. Drive, talk, or text, just not at the same time.

I love Christmas and all the ways people decorate, but whoever thought it was a good idea to toss deflated lawn ornaments all over their yard, where they lie there like piles of laundry, should be crucified and buried with a sprig of holly through his heart. Festive, indeed! Bah, humbug!

I’m getting tired of phone calls from a fake fraud clerk, who claims to be from AmEx, wanting to issue me a new card by saying mine has been compromised. He is just fishing for personal info so he can rook me any way he can think of. I don’t know how these people can sleep at night knowing they are not going to heaven, but they are real busy hassling us. Everyone, beware!

The flip side

I want to thank the reader who joked about stepping on the scales at Publix. You made my day! P.S. Publix, please don’t deprive us of torturing ourselves by removing the scales.
