Betty White to celebrate her 100th birthday with a one-night-only event

Betty White is turning 100 on Jan. 17 and will celebrate with a special one-night-only film event to be broadcast in select cinemas.

“Betty White: 100 Years Young — A Birthday Celebratio­n” will follow White in her day-to-day life, including behind-thescenes on sets, working with office staff, entertaini­ng at home and advocating for animals.

The film will also celebrate White’s historic accomplish­ments in the world of TV with classic moments from “The Golden Girls,” “Saturday Night Live,” “Hot in Cleveland,” “The Mary Tyler Moore Show” and even a lost episode from White’s very first sitcom.

Celebrity guests featured in the film include Ryan Reynolds, Tina Fey, Robert Redford, Lin ManuelMira­nda, Clint Eastwood,

Morgan Freeman, Jay Leno, Carol Burnett, Craig Ferguson, Jimmy Kimmel, Valerie Bertinelli and James Corden.

Producer Steven Boettcher, who is a longtime chronicler of White’s life said in a statement, “We didn’t want this day to pass without bringing together all the people that love her, from her co-stars and friends to her many millions of fans of all ages, to celebrate her 100th birthday with an entertaini­ng and loving look at what makes Betty a national treasure!”

Fathom Events will be hosting screenings at select cinemas in the Central Florida area, including Universal Cinemark at CityWalk, AMC Disney Springs 24 and Regal Pointe Orlando Stadium 20 in Orlando.
