Missing woman’s family raises money for search
The family of Paola Miranda-Rosa, an Osceola County woman who has not been seen since Dec. 18, is raising money to pay for a private investigator after a law enforcement search was unsuccessful.
The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office partnered with the Orange County Sheriff ’s Office to search for Miranda-Rosa, 31. More than 150 officers searched land and waterways at Wekiwa Springs State Park in Apopka after witnesses reported seeing her there.
Her car was found at the state park but she is still missing. The search ended on Dec. 22.
On Monday, Osceola County sheriff ’s spokesperson Nirva Rodriguez called for anyone who might know what happened to Miranda-Rosa after she got to Wekiwa Springs to come forward with information.
Tuesday morning, Miranda-Rosa’s family created a GoFundMe page to raise $15,000 to continue the search themselves.
“During the past 11 days we have done everything we can to assist the police in finding my sister Paola, including search walks, hanging up flyers, reaching out to several media outlets,” Andrea Miranda wrote on the GoFundMe page, alongside photos of her sister smiling with family members. “... We know that law enforcement has done what they can and now it is up to her family and the community to come together to Bring Paola Home! We need to be the advocate for Paola. We will not give up!”
In just over 24 hours, the family raised nearly $9,500 toward their goal.
The money raised will first pay for a private investigator may also be used to fund a reward for information that helps find Miranda-Rosa.
Miranda-Rosa is 4-foot-10, about 145 pounds and has reddish-violet hair and brown eyes. Anyone who has seen her or has information about her disappearance is asked to contact the Osceola County Sheriff ’s Office at 407-348-2222.
