Ticked off! @refuse bins

-

So, I have been wondering for quite some time why almost everywhere else in the entire United States a green bin indicates recyclable materials. But in Orange County the blue bin is for recyclables. Get it? Green = recyclable! Why on earth are ours blue?

We’re ticked off that some jerk in Meadow Woods/South Orlando thought it was okay to inflict four hours of fireworks (9 p.m. until 1 a.m. Christmas Day) on folks looking forward to a quiet and peaceful religious holiday. How disrespectful, thoughtless, rude and selfish can you possibly be? And shame on people living close enough to determine the location of the bombardment — why didn’t you report it?

I am ticked off that the local commuter bus line does nothing to enforce the abuse of the bus stop trash cans for their personal/ household garbage. I confronted an abuser, witnessed her misuse of the trash can at a bus stop, I reported it to the bus company customer service department, nothing resolved. The trash can is continually overflowing. Why the culprit isn’t penalized by securing name/address from the household trash, is ridiculous. Welcome to Conway Road, land of overflowing bus stop trash cans! Help, please.

I’m ticked off that Atlanta, Jacksonville and Charlotte (pointed out in the Sentinel) have beltways that are interstate highways and toll free; we have toll roads. Our toll-based beltway discourages traffic from going around town. It encourages them to continue clogging downtown I-4 to avoid tolls. What’s wrong with our picture?

The flip side

Many thanks to the 80s FM afternoon DJ who does such a great job! Your mix of fantastic music as well as your interesting conversation make my ride home much more pleasant!
