Ticked off! @truck headlights

-

Dear truck drivers, don’t you know your headlights are blinding me day and night? Please keep your headlights on low beam at night, and turn them off during the day. Better yet, get them re-aimed so they don’t blind me at night. Your lights are twice as bright as car headlights.

To the person who is so upset with the amount of marketing calls to their land line, it is no better by removing it. I get the same amount on my cell phone each day.

I was sad to see that the toll road might be permitted through the Split Oak area. This would have a major environmental impact, but again, follow the money. Politicians talk out of both sides of their mouth. They talk about being committed to environmental issues and then do things that will be the opposite. Of course, all that this area needs is another toll road! More land paved over.

Where have all the fathers gone? As a rental property owner, it seems that 85% of the calls I are from single mothers. These women are often trying to raise a number of children, plus work 2-3 jobs. They are worn out and often desperate. They are living paycheck (to) paycheck. They worry about getting enough food to feed their family and pay rent. It is said that it takes a village to raise a child. Two involved parents would be a start. Fathers may be violent and/ or emotionally uninvolved. Some are in prison. This is a complex social problem but it is time for an emphasis on men’s role in being fathers.

Like everybody else, I’m ticked off at the advertising attorneys. I’d like to see one that says, “I got hit by a big truck and...got me $24.78. He would have got me more if I hadn’t been texting when I ran the red light.”

The flip side

Thanks to the nice gentleman who helped me get gas after I had run out and was left stranded on State Road 436.
