Ticked off! @rude adults

-

Nearly 200 cars, engines revving and music blaring, sped through the Cherokee Historic District in the early hours of Sunday morning. Repeated calls to 911 fell on deaf ears. We saw no cops until 2:30 a.m. By then all the thugs were gone. City of Orlando needs to beef up patrols, hire more cops. Our neighborhood pays more than our fair share of taxes.

The pandemic has come and gone. Why in heaven’s name are folks still wearing masks? It ticks me off!

The nightly news is a police blotter and it ticks me off! Is there nothing of a positive subject to report to uplift our spirits and give us hope?

Up until approximately three weeks ago the last couple of pages in the Saturday edition in the Style & Home section were several articles relative to automobiles, a write-up about a new vehicle and questions and answers to automotive issues. Was one of my favorite items of the newspaper, I miss it, like to see it return.

I’m ticked off at the “adults” that spent the bulk of time at our child’s graduation ceremony taking selfies, watching video clips with the sound on and loudly talking with one another during the valedictorian’s speech. Fortunately, the high school grads displayed more decorum and respect than some in the crowd.

The flip side

When you consider all of the daily pieces of mail that somehow magically get delivered individually to each of our houses they do a pretty good job. I mean they’re little envelopes not big packages which the smaller the item the easier it is to lose. Which is why I misplace my car keys so often. Yes, occasionally one takes a little longer route but amazingly it almost always eventually gets to you. Thank you.
