Ticked off! @MLB Hall of Fame

-

I am ticked off at the voting process to select baseball players to the Hall of Fame. It has become more a popularity contest than an evaluation of the players performances and numbers. The baseball writers that vote need to get rid of their prejudices and personal feelings toward the candidates.

Why do we as people put up with food additives that no one knows what these are, what they do and cannot pronounce? I believe that part of the obesity crisis is due to the hormones and chemicals fed to animals to put on weight. These become part of the food chain.

I’m ticked off at the rat in Orlando. I worked at the first park 50 years ago. Been a passholder 15 years plus. Bought a ticket today for my sister: No discount, she is a Florida resident. Price jacked up because of pending spring break. Ridiculous!

Please, someone tell pastors that start their sermons with “cute/ witty” personal stories that happened to them that they are not really cute or witty to many of us, just time taken from the message people came to hear.

I too think money for a park under I-4 could be better spent on low income housing but so could the $40 million plus that the city plans to spend on the Pulse museum.

The flip side

On Jan. 7 a group of 11 senior citizens were dining at upscale Figg’s Prime, a restaurant off of Douglas Road in Altamonte Springs.

When it was time to pay the bill our waiter said it was taken care of by the couple that just left. In these days of unrest and strife, the group was joyfully surprised that people would perform this act of generosity and kindness. None of us will ever forget this experience and want the couple to know that they have restored our faith in the goodness of people and that we will never forget it. We will “pay it forward.”
