Audrey Robitaille

-

Audrey Catherine Robitaille of Orlando, Florida passed away peacefully in her sleep the morning of February 4,2023 at the home of her son. Audrey recently celebrated her 97th birthday with family and friends. Audrey was born in Constableville, New York and moved to Orlando in 1969 from Niagara Falls, NY. Audrey was preceded in Death by her parents, Carl and Violet Roser, her sister Noreen, her brother Robert Roser, her grandson Justin Robitaille, and she is now reunited with her beloved husband, Tony Robitaille, who passed away in 1993.

Audrey is survived by her three children, Sandra Croisdale of Newfane, NY, David Robitaille of Garden City, NY and Jeff Robitaille of Orlando. She will be missed greatly by her 11 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren, whose birthdays she never forgot. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Evelyn Roser, of Minneola, NY, and a number of nieces and nephews. Audrey was a devout Roman Catholic who was a member of St. John Vianney parish in Orlando for almost 54 years and prior to that, St. Mary’s of the Cataract in Niagara Falls. She was an active member over the years in the Alter Guild, the Woman’s Council, and St. Vincent DePaul Society within the church. She volunteered for many years as a “pink lady” at Mercy Hospital, now Arnold Palmer Children’s Hospital. She and her husband Tony were members of the Order of the Eastern Star and Tony served as Marshall at Composite Lodge No. 293 F&AM in Orlando in the 1980’s

Audrey was truly skilled in the arts and crafts associated with homemaking. She was extremely proficient at knitting, crocheting, needlepoint and making blankets, quilts, clothes, and many of the linens used in the church services. Many of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren still have something that their grandmother made for them, as do many of her friends. Audrey will be best remembered by her friends and family as a person that lived her faith by helping others. She always opened her heart and her home to people, and had a love of life and a sunny disposition until her dying day. She loved to write letters to friends and acquaintances, showing concern and keeping in touch with everyone she befriended. Audrey was the historian of the Roser and Robitaille families, and would receive correspondence from strangers asking for information about our history. The knowledge she had can never be replaced.

The family will celebrate her life 6-8 PM Thursday, February 16 at Baldwin Fairchild Funeral home 1413 South Semoran Blvd. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, February 17 at 11:30 AM at St John Vianney Church, 6200 South Orange Blossom Trail, with committal and interment to follow at 1:00 PM at Woodlawn Memorial Cemetery in Gotha, Fla. Reception at Woodlawn Cemetery will immediately follow.

In lieu of flowers, Audrey would be honored by a donation to St. Vincent DePaul Society at St. John Vianney Church, (925) 939-7911.
