Ticked off! @no traffic control

-

I’m ticked off at the absence of traffic control along State Road 436 particularly between Aloma Avenue and State Road 50. Cars ignore the posted speed limit daily by 15 to 25 mph. Why post speed limits if they are not enforced? In this space other readers have made similar comments about traffic violations in other sections of the city. Isn’t time to look at the force’s leadership?

I’m ticked off at the high price of everything! Our salaries and Social Security cannot keep up.

Please explain why it takes so long to widen a few lanes in a residential neighborhood. Red Bug Road, for instance. We cannot get out of the neighborhood most of the time now because of all the traffic backups.

I’m ticked off at all the noisy blowers these lawn companies use! Put some silencers on them! I hear them inside so loud even with my double pane windows shut tight almost every day of the week!

Please, someone, remove the plastic bags hanging on the fence crossing a pristine stream that egrets like to wade in. The location is on John Young Parkway heading from Pleasant Hill Road toward Kissimmee. Let’s keep our wildlife safe and our waterways clear.

I’m ticked off at the rude pharmacy tech at a DeLand drugstore. After being the only customer at the drivethru and waiting 10 minutes before any acknowledgment of my waiting and after expressing my dissatisfaction after the lengthy wait, as a customer service person, it isn’t your right to refuse to serve me because you don’t want to acknowledge my concern and walk away.

I get ticked off when drivers do not put their lights on when its rainy, foggy or getting dark at night and also when drivers put their turn signals on only when they are at the street and the driver in back could slam right into them.

The flip side

Thank you to businesses such as Hobby Lobby, Chickfil-A and 4 Rivers Smokehouse for closing on Sunday to give their employees time to spend with their families and to attend religious services.
