Vote out GOP, vote in common sense

-

The White House COVID outbreak demonstrates the foolishness of flouting public health advice and the danger of politicizing the wearing of masks. As a Public Health Nurse I am appalled.

Led by Trump, (mostly) Republican business owners and irate citizens in Shasta and Butte County have gathered, maskless, to demand “opening up.” As I write this, there is a huge outbreak associated with Bethel Church in Redding, which has held maskless gatherings. Redding is on the verge of entering more restrictive rules due to their irresponsibility.

Those who want us to reopen … need to wear masks, follow social distancing rules and practice good hand hygiene. That is the means toward reopening.

So, the next time Gallagher, LaMalfa or Dahle gathers with folks to oppose Governor Newsom on public health measures he has taken, tell them to put on their masks. Set an example. It is time for Republicans to buck the deranged leader of their party and display some science-based common sense.

When voting … vote these irresponsible people out.

Please vote for Audrey Denney (CD1), Jim Henson (Assembly 3), Elizabeth Betancourt (Assembly 1); Lauren Kohler, Rich Ober, Ann Schwab, and Curtis Pahlka (Chico City Council); Janet Goodson and Lisa Torres (Oroville City Council) and Caitlin Dalby (Chico School Board). They all deserve our votes. They have the kind of leadership we need in this COVID crisis.

And, it goes almost without saying that we must elect Biden/Harris to lead us all back to normal. Back better!
