Praise for events and volunteers

-

I was fortunate to participate in two community events in September that provided hope of renewal to our Chico/ Durham community.

First, the Patrick Ranch Museum (PRM) had their first drive-through tri-tip dinner fundraiser that was very well organized with prepared dinner bags delivered to your car. The dinner was delicious and the volunteers were outstanding in their delivery.

Second, Butte Environmental Council (BEC) organized a two- day cleanup of upper and lower Bidwell Park. The BEC volunteers organized many COVID-19 safety measures to ensure the safety of all the volunteers that picked up litter in the park. I was able to fill a bucket and bag with the remains of “old” campsites along the creek in lower park. I was impressed with BEC’s organization and volunteers.

I quote Kenn Dolan (editor of “Upgraded Living”): “Purpose erases anguish. Stillness eases franticness. Perspective invites change, positive change.”
