Christmas events on the Ridge

On Dec. 4, 5, 11, 12, 18 and 19, the Paradise Recreation and Park District will be hosting a drivein movie in the back parking lot of St. Thomas Moore Church, 767 Elliott Road.

The movies will start at 6 p.m., with tickets $20 per vehicle. Popcorn, snacks and beverages will be available for purchase. The movies will be family-friendly, with a holiday theme.

There will be no ice rink, but that is expected to return in 2021.

The Terry Ashe Recreation Center grounds will be decorated for Christmas, with several decorated and lit trees and other decoration­s around the facility including projection lights and holiday inflatable­s. All will be ready by Dec. 5.

Truck parade

the annual

Truck Parade of Lights will take place from 5 to 7 p.m.

It will start at 6:30 p.m. at Thomas Ace Hardware, 542 Pearson Road. It also is a canned food drive for nonperisha­ble items, which can be dropped off at the hardware store, Smokers Paradise in Magalia or the check-in table for parade participan­ts.

The parade route will be west on Pearson, past Paradise Community Park to

the Skyway, then north on the Skyway to the Holiday Shopping Center. Trucks will double back and retrace their route. Social distancing and masks are encouraged for spectators.
