A few more items on Trump’s ‘done’ list
To Tom Neill’s list of “thank yous” to President Trump (Letters, December 5), I’d like to add a few more:
— Thank you for replacing George W. Bush as the worst president in my lifetime, and for replacing James Buchanan as the worst president in American history (according to a Time magazine survey of 170 presidential historians).
— Thank you for exposing your party’s hypocrisy and racism. Remember when you and the Tea Party Republicans said that your staunch opposition to President Obama was based solely on your concerns about deficit spending and immigration policy and had nothing to do with his being Black? And yet, we haven’t heard a peep from the Tea Party in the past four years, even though illegal immigration and the federal deficit have both increased during your tenure!
— Thank you for motivating the greatest voter turnout in American history, and for energizing over 80 million citizens to overcome your voter suppression tactics and cast their ballots to remove you from office.
— And even though you broke your campaign promises to bring back coal and steel jobs, thank you for rejuvenating the funeral home, cremation, and cemetery businesses. Over 280,000 Americans have died from a disease you consistently downplayed, while ignoring and deriding health care professionals. Plus, just think of all of the work you’ve generated for the factcheckers, who’ve had to adjudicate the 25,000 lies you’ve told since taking office!
