The past few weeks have given us unseasonably warm and beautiful weather here on the Paradise-Magalia Ridge, but with rain finally in our forecast for this next week maybe it will finally feel like winter has arrived. It is a nice change form those dog days of summer with the heat and dry weather. Christmas is somehow less than two weeks away and I constantly wonder “where has the time gone”? Christmas lights adorn homes and festive trees are decorated exuding the Christmas spirit and uplifting people’s spirits.

Recently we have had many discussions with people who yearn to return to the ridge, and with so much cleanup and positive effort, who can blame them. Most properties have been marked for tree removal and much anticipated tree work has even finally begun! Correspondingly, sales of vacant lots and land have been fairly brisk with 269 Available lots on the market, 92 currently pending and 52 having sold in the past 30 days. While there is lots going on in the vacant land market, prices for lots are very reasonable. Which tells me if you have ever thought of calling the Paradise ridge “Home”, then there may have never been a better time for you to consider investing in your Paradise future.

As far as home sales go on the greater “Paradise-Ridge we currently have 61 homes active on the market with 37 pending and 17 having closed escrow in the past 30 days. Inventory remains a significant problem here on the ridge like most locations but seemingly exacerbated from the #Campfire devastation.

This past Tuesday the new Paradise Town Council convened and amongst other business voted to continue their quest for a sewer system, this time moving forward with the EIR (Environmental Impact Review) for a connection to Chico utilizing their existing water treatment plant. All of this of course is predicated on the city of Chico’s agreement.

As a reminder, every day is a new adventure on the Paradise ridge and we greatly enjoy working with repeat and new clients helping to find them exactly what they are looking for. Whether they are looking to buy or sell in our home communities of Paradise, Magalia, Chico and Oroville or in our favorite home away from home in the Lake Almanor area or even Tehama county we are here to assist in any way possible.
