It was Obama who hired best and brightest

A recent letter writer denigrated President Obama’s intellect and competence, and said that President- elect Biden’s cabinet choices were “intelligence challenged.” Come on, man, you can’t possibly be that uninformed.

Barack Obama graduated from Columbia University, and was accepted into Harvard, where he was president of the Harvard Law Review and graduated magna cum laude. He can speak eloquently and extemporaneously on a myriad of subjects. He rescued our economy from the Great Recession, saved the auto industry, reduced the deficit, and killed bin Laden.

Donald Trump, on the other hand, reportedly cheated on his SATs, refuses to release his college transcripts, and was described by a professor as “the dumbest student I ever had.” He’s incapable of speaking rationally or intelligently without the aid of a teleprompter, as evidenced by his rambling diatribes regarding windmills, nuclear energy, and toilets (look them up on YouTube). Over 300,000 Americans have died on his watch from a preventable disease.

Obama’s cabinet was eminently qualified and included a nuclear physicist and a Nobel prize winner. Trump’s is filled with swamp people (e.g., Wilbur Ross), campaign contributors (e.g., Betsy DeVos), and unqualified sycophants (e.g., Rick Perry). Ben Carson was a skilled brain surgeon, but he’s Black so Trump put him in charge of HUD, where his most notable accomplishment was spending $31,000 in taxpayer funds on DINING ROOM FURNITURE for his office.

Come on, man.
