Great? We’ll settle for ‘adequate’ again

Let’s recap. We have a president who has been documented with telling over 20,000 false or misleading claims (lies) since taking office. Fact checkers currently can’t keep up. He has demonstrated complete disregard for the well-being of anyone but himself or his sycophants. Numerous mental health professionals, contrary to standard protocol, have declared him mentally ill by anecdote. His failings as even a human being have been documented by many close sources. And, he’s shown an overwhelming lack of understanding or care of the tenets of democracy.

Before the 2016 election he claimed it was rigged until he surprised everyone, including himself, by winning. As to the 2020 election he started the mantra of it being rigged months prior knowing it was not looking favorable. Then, since he lost, over 50 baseless lawsuits with abject rejections from even his own court appointees, certification from all 50 states, and disavowal of fraud claims from his own security agencies and his boot-licker AG and Justice Department.

“He’s just exercising his right to ensure a fair and honest election.” That was surpassed long ago. Call it what it is, an attempted coup, its audacity only surpassed by its ineptitude.

And a vast multitude of Republicans, including numerous elected officials who have sworn to uphold our laws and protect us from domestic enemies, are ignorantly and brazenly complicit. Make America Great Again? I’d settle for adequate.
