Police: Machine gun, other weapons recovered during parole search
When Chico police officers conducted a parole search at a residence Sunday night, they said they found numerous weapons, including a machine gun, and methamphetamine.
Officers arrived at a residence on West Sacramento Avenue around 8:45 p.m. on Sunday for a parole search of Omarr Lewis, 35.
Upon arrival, officers contacted Desiree Alleynne, 39, inside the residence and proceeded to search the residence. Officers said they found methamphetamine, tear gas, a stun gun and ammunition.
In the garage of the residence, officers contacted Lewis and several others who police say were smoking methamphetamine. While searching the garage, said they found methamphetamine, several replica firearms and numerous pieces of stolen mail. Officers also recovered a Glock style 9mm “ghost gun” that had been converted into a fully automatic pistol, loaded with an extended magazine.
Lewis and Alleynne were subsequently arrested and booked into the Butte County Jail.
Lewis was arrested on suspicion of being a felon in possession of a firearm, being a felon in possession of ammunition, possession of stolen property, being armed while possessing methamphetamine, possession of a ghost gun, possession of a large capacity magazine and possession of a machine gun.
Alleyne was arrested on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine, being a felon in possession of tear gas, being a felon in possession of a stun gun and being a felon in possession of ammunition.
