Two teams advance at Table Mountain

- Ed Anderson

The team of Charles Conner and Marcus Walberg, along with the team of Dave Dashler and Bud Willett will advance to the North Valley Zone qualifying round of the Northern California Golf Association 54th Annual Zone Championship.

Both teams qualified with eight-under-par rounds of 64.

The good news is that one of the qualifying courses is Table Mountain Golf Course. It doesn’t get any better than that to be able to qualify on your home course. The North Valley Zone qualifying date is May 20. According to my records, the allzone championship tournament is on June 21-22 at Poppy Hills and Carmel Valley Ranch in the Monterey area.

The team of Joseph Lombardi and Sean Odell also shot a net 64 in the second flight, but opted not to participate in the zone qualifying portion of the tournament. Because of the large number of members in the men’s club, two teams are eligible to advance. There were a total of three flights. First flight: 1, Conner and Walberg, 64; 2, Joey Lauer and James Scharff, 68; 3, Drake Nelson and Rick Rina, 69, card- off; 4, Bryan Elliot and Armando Quinones, 69.
