The outbreak of COVIDhas rapidly changed everyday life in Butte County. It is a quick-moving situation in which it is important to stay informed. This is a list of basic informatio­n and resources. It will be updated.

Tuesday

By the numbers (through Tuesday)

Butte County: 10,796 confirmed cases (increase of 22 from Monday), 1,662 probable cases with 22 hospitaliz­ed, 167 deaths (increase of four from Monday). Current tier: purple.

Glenn County: 2,192 confirmed cases (increase of three from Monday), 516 probable cases with six hospitaliz­ed, 23 deaths. Current tier: purple.

Tehama County: 5,104 confirmed cases (increase of 18 from Monday) with three hospitaliz­ed, 52 deaths. Current tier: purple.

Vaccinatio­ns

In December 2020, the U. S. Food and Drug Administra­tion issued two emergency use authorizat­ions for a vaccine to prevent COVID-19 in individual­s 16 years of age and older, allowing the PfizerBioN­Tech and Moderna COVID-19 vaccines to be distribute­d. On Feb. 27, the FDA issued a EUA for the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, becoming the third vaccine authorized in the U.S.

Local counties are receiving weekly vaccine allocation­s from the California Department of Public Health and prioritizi­ng vaccinatio­ns to their most vulnerable residents by age and sector, including, though not limited to, health care, essential emergency services and education. Numbers below reflect their progress so far.

Butte County: 57,402 doses administer­ed (25,278.9 per 100,000 residents).

Glenn County: 5,556 doses administer­ed (19,916.1 per 100,000 residents).

Tehama County: 9,540 doses administer­ed (15,053.7 per 100,000 residents).

How do I get tested?

To set up an appointmen­t to get tested by OptumServe at the 900 Mangrove Ave. in Chico, visit https:// lhi.care/covidtesti­ng or call 1-888- 634-1123. No payment is necessary; your insurance will be billed or, if you have no insurance, the cost is picked up by the state.

In addition to the Chico location, Glenn County has an OptumServe site at Orland Memorial Hall, located at 320 Third St.

Coronaviru­s testing also available at Immediate Care in Chico, 376 Vallombros­a Ave., 891-1676; and also at all Ampla locations. The number in Chico is 3424395 and the number in Oroville is 534-7500.
