Sabotaging Americans’ wishes for diplomacy

-

Overwhelming majorities of Democrats, and most Americans, according to polls, are against endless war and support diplomacy among nations to work for peace and a livable planet. Yet Democratic President Joe Biden’s Secretary of State and National Security Adviser, in their first diplomatic meeting with Chinese representatives, in Anchorage, Alaska, deliberately sabotaged prospects of cooperation with China to solve such problems.

March 20 and 21, 2021, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan made it very clear to visiting Chinese dignitaries that China is an adversary to the US and our many allies supporting US interests unless China plays by “rule of law.” (google: state.gov: text; Blinken/Sullivan; statements; Anchorage, Alaska)

Blinken spoke of hundreds of ”peers” with whom he’d just spoken in allied nations around the world “celebrating the US return to world leadership — some of whom mentioned China’s ‘ bullying.’” Remember, Anthony Blinken, along with Jake Sullivan, though young, have been among the many Ivy League graduate yes-men hanging around State Department big-wigs for years pushing for war on Iraq, obliteration of Libya, overthrow of Syria’s President Assad, Saudi’s grotesque war on Yemen, a future war on Iran … and Blinken alludes to China’s “bullying” in his opening remarks?

Within a moment of these US insults, the current representatives from the ancient land of China expressed dignified words of China’s positions and hopes for the world. Their words included peace, United Nations’ International Law, respect, world trade and development.
