CHICO >> You can add one more thing to that Costco shopping list beginning Monday: a single-shot COVID-19 vaccination.

Appointments are now being accepted for the Johnson & Johnson single- dose vaccine at the Chico location, according to information on the company’s website.

Appointments must be booked online on the company’s website; they can not be made in person or by telephone. The link can be found by going to www.costco.com and clicking on “pharmacy,” or at https:// book- costcopharmacy.appointment-plus.com/d12y1m0e/.

In compliance with Butte County Public Health guidelines, all individuals 16 years of

age and above are eligible for the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, according to the Costco website. The age requirement for the Moderna and Pfizer vaccine is 18 years of age and above.

Although Costco is a

members-based enterprise, Californians do not need to be members in order to sign up for an appointment.

“Costco is firmly committed to helping protect the health and safety of our members and employees, and to serving our communities,” the store wrote on its website.

The company emphasized that appointments are available only on its website, and

asked people not to call or try to book appointments in person.

Costco began administering vaccines in mid-February at some of its pharmacies across the country. On Friday, the company announced that the Johnson & Johnson vaccine would be available at nearly two dozen locations around the Bay Area as well as several locations in the

north state, including Chico.

A complete list of locations accepting appointments for the vaccine can be found by going to www.costco.com and clicking on “pharmacy.”
