Drug bust leads to seven arrests in Butte County
OROVILLE >> A total of seven people were arrested Thursday after investigators with the Butte Interagency Narcotics Task Force and Butte County Sheriff’s Office served a search warrant at a residence and travel trailer.
The BINTF, as well as BCSO special enforcement and investigation units served the search warrant at approximately 12:30 p.m. in the 700 block of Yuba Avenue for a residence and a travel trailer parked in front.
As law enforcement agents arrived, they said they observed a man and woman attempt to flee out a second story window by climbing out on the roof of an attached structure. They went back into the residence once deputies spotted them, according to a BINTF press release.
Meanwhile, additional agents made entry into the residence and detained several people including the two who were seen climbing out of a window at the residence. Agents also contacted and detained two others in the travel trailer.
Agents said they found heroin, methamphetamine and a “significant amount” of drug paraphernalia during the search. Seven people were detained and arrested during the incident: Cassandra Coffman, 31; Chelsey Nicole Dionne, 32; Christopher Fox, 29; Cody Hofius, 32; Kristin Orozco, 28; Brett Rogers, 35; and Manderisa Tate, 29. Additionally, a 34-yearold man was detained then released.
Coffman was arrested on suspicion of four outstanding arrest warrants and booked into the Butte County Jail.
Dionne was arrested on suspicion of two outstanding arrest warrants, including one warrant for burglary, and booked into the jail.
Fox was arrested on suspicion of maintaining a residence for the use of controlled substances, commission of a felony while on bail and possession of heroin.
Hofius was arrested on suspicion of methamphetamine and heroin possession. He was released with a notice to appear.
Orozco was arrested on suspicion of an outstanding arrest warrant and booked into the jail. While Orozco was getting booked, agents said they discovered she had smuggled heroin, methamphetamine, Suboxone strips and pills into the jail beneath her clothing. An additional charge, suspicion of bringing controlled substances into the jail, was added.
Rogers was arrested on suspicion of heroin possession. He was released with a notice to appear.
Tate was arrested on suspicion methamphetamine and heroin possession. She was released with a notice to appear.
