- By Rick Silva rsilva@paradisepost.com

For the first time ever the Paradise Veterans of Foreign Wars 2039 is hosting an Easter egg hunt in Paradise on Saturday morning.

The hunt’s going to be held at the Veterans Memorial Hall at 6550 Skyway and is going to be held in conjunction with the Paradise Lions Club and for ages 3 to 12.

VFW’s Lawrence st. Germain says that the hunt will begin at 10 a.m. and run until noon.

“We have 2,000 eggs with candy in them,” Germain said. “We also have 2,000 fruit drinks.”

There will also be egg baskets for those two who don’t get an egg, and Germain says they will be selling cotton candy for $1.

Next month the VFW is going to be hosting a Cinco de Mayo event, according to Germain.

For those who cannot attend the Paradise event, the Oroville Eagles Fraternal Order 196 is hosting an Easter egg of its own starting at 11 a.m. Saturday.

That will be held at Hewitt Park at 2101 Baldwin Ave. The hosts plan to separate youth’s into four age groups ranging from one month to 2 years old, then another for those three years to five years old, then those 6 to 8 years old and 6 to 10 years old.

The Paradise Recreation and Parks District is going to be hosting a Recreation and Park committee meeting on Tuesday starting at 4 p.m.

The meeting is a teleconference that’s open to the public and can be attended via Zoom at https:// us02web. zoom.us/j/85763 921525? pwd=akVLY2tNR EU0QU1Lc2V1OHB6YkR pUT09.

The committee will meet to discuss revised park plans for its Lakeridge and Noble Orchard Park projects.

According to the agenda, the updated design plans have been based on public input they have taken since December 2019.

The Noble Orchard Park property was purchased with the help of a former PRPD board member Steve Williams in 2010 for about $375,000.

In January 2014, the PRPD started to entertain ideas about what could go at that location.

In October 2020, the district invited the public on a tour of the area on how they plan to build the park.

That tour was part of an attempt by the PRPD to you to seek public input on both the Lakeridge and Noble Orchard Park projects

That effort was made in part because the district felt that public input could help provide compelling
