3 things to do in Butte County this weekend

Here are three fun things to try in Butte County this weekend.

The 16th annual Wildflower & Nature Festival is Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Riverbend Park in Oroville.

The festival focuses on natural resources and handmade products in Butte County. The event is free, and there will be activities and entertainm­ent for all ages such as children's crafts, river kayak tours, live music, food trucks and a beer garden.

Antiques appraisal

There will be an antique appraisal event at Bolt's Antique Tool Museum also on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Profession­al Appraiser Erin Dewell will be present.

The limit is three items per person and $5 for each item. Large items can be submitted via photo only. Cash only.

Water, soda and snacks will be available and cost $1 per item.

The museum is located at 1650 Broderick St.

The eighth annual Chico Home and Garden Show will take place Saturday and Sunday at the Silver Dollar Fairground­s from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The show features local businesses, a sampling of regional gourmet favorites, the flower show and bonsai show and kids entertainm­ent, food and lots to do and see.

The show will be located in five halls on the fairground­s and acres of outdoor displays. The show will feature items like onsite hot tubs, local nurseries and mattresses, and there will be gift and gourmet items, too.

The event also features kids entertainm­ent like Pom Pom the Clown on-site both days, food, and lots to do and see. Handmade metal art, local artisans, regional artists, and unique yard art will be there, as well as big items like barbecues and tractors.

Admission is $8 for adults and $7 for seniors. Only cash is accepted. Kids 16 and under receive free admission with a paying adult and parking is also free.
