Thompson making mistakes in the draft

As it looks now the 29th pick will be the Packers. Most blue chip college players with starting potential will be gone. Thompson’s drafts seem to be going downhill. Celebrated as a Thompson find, Martinez was supposed to have it all. Other teams passed because he’s slow. At the end of last season our best corner was a 4.67 in the 40 guy. Not terrible... for a LB. D-line, big beef, no speed or QB pressure. LBs and DBs too often hurt, slow or average talent. With all the needs to become the champion, wack job Teddy has no clue or answers. Only overvalued talent, lies and spin. I was totally shocked by Bob McGinn’s ‘Ask the Expert’ (Feb. 16 Packer Plus). Bob was asked about Murphy not settled on a successor to Teddy. Are we supposed to wait for a quality GM to become available? Where did the mentioned GMs come from? Take a breath man! We’re projected around $40 million under the cap. We give players away for nothing. Very few quality free agents. No trades, and doesn’t realize that speed is not an option in the pros. Gutekunst and Wolf would at least try to assemble good players. Mistakes can be made. Wolf would cut them and keep trying. Thompson’s history is mistakes stick around way too long.

The 2016 Titans traded a top choice. They got the lineman they would have picked, a great running back and firstround pick this year. Now they again have two Round 1 picks this year (5th and 18th). By the way, they are going to draft DBs (2) ahead of us. From terrible to very good in two years. Good luck Teddy!
