Make hay while the sun shines — with the sun, moon, Mars, and Pluto in earth signs as the weekend begins, let’s get our work done and sketch out plans for the next couple of months

Mercury, symbolic ruler of communication and transportation, complicates our logistics as it turns retrograde from May 18 to June 11. We can already feel our world slowing down, but we can make the most of that introspective time if we get organized now.

Friday brings a hardworking Capricorn moon, and asks us to engage in the conversation about the right and wrong use of personal, political, and electrical power — the discussion of our time raised by the ongoing Pluto-Uranus square, stimulated right now as the moon conjuncts Pluto.

We get a taste of this coming mercurial confusion over the weekend as mental Mercury squares intuitive, imaginative Neptune. While it’s a wonderful time to drift and dream by the creek, we need to be patient around confusing messages. It will be easy to get distracted and drop the ball.

This little taste of Mercury glitches can help us notice where we need to tighten our efforts or repair lines of communication in order to prepare for the Mercury-retrograde season. With Venus now in sensitive, defensive Cancer, people aren’t really fond of criticism, even if it is constructive.

A sociable Aquarius moon over the weekend gets us out and about. Mars enters talkative Gemini, and the moon enters intuitive Pisces on Monday, which can sharpen our sensitivities as the week begins. Midweek an Aries moon helps us kick into high gear and accomplish a lot in a short period of time.

Friday, May 8: Plan, organize, and accomplish things on this efficient if slightly grumpy day. Apologize if necessary and repair old wrongs this morning. Take work seriously this afternoon as the Capricorn moon conjuncts Pluto. The mood lightens up this evening as the moon trines the sun — we can mix business with pleasure tonight.

Saturday, May 9: Water damage can cause glitches in the system, and sleepiness fogs the morning as Mercury squares Neptune. In the late afternoon, if we can agree with one another, we can get things done as the moon squares Mars and then enters Aquarius around dinnertime. The evening is more agreeable.

Sunday, May 10: Social obligations are wonderful, but take time over them. Engage in conversation around brunch time as the moon trines Mercury. The afternoon is a good time for collaborative projects. Tonight, as the moon enters expansive Aquarius, philosophize to get a better overview of a personal situation.

Monday, May 11: If we can get into a groove, this can be a productive morning as the Aquarius moon squares the sun. Activating Mars enters flexible Gemini and gives us more negotiating room. Our sensitivities are heightened as the moon enters Pisces tonight.

Tuesday, May 12: This morning can feel spacey, imaginative, and vulnerable as the moon conjuncts Neptune in Pisces and squares Mercury. Use subtle perceptions to refine work and appreciate the landscape.

Wednesday, May 13: We may feel a little homesick this morning. There’s healing work to be done as the moon conjuncts Chiron. Our energy and bravery pick up, and so does our belligerence.

Thursday, May 14: On this restless, direct day, explore or break into new territory. Some interesting threads of our past can pluck at our heartstrings this afternoon. Tonight can overflow with camaraderie as the moon trines Jupiter.
