IAIA’s Life Road Music Festival
Dance all day at the Institute of American Indian Arts’ Life Road Music Festival, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. (doors open at 10 a.m.) on Sunday, May 10. The free, all-ages event features a range of Native music, including flute, drumming, hip-hop, and blues. Brian Frejo, Gary Farmer and the Troublemakers, Andy “Wake Self” Martinez, and Def-i are among the performers. Because the festival is alcohol- and drug-free, no cans or bottles are allowed. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets; vendors will sell food and crafts. Coordinated by students in the Jam Club, the Life Road Music Festival takes place in the dance circle at the center of campus, which is located at 83 Avan Nu Po Road, on the south side of Santa Fe. — Jennifer Levin
